Teaching Materials: Philosophy in Literature added to Education

A new syllabus has been added to the Teaching Materials section of our website! Nancy Bunge has contributed a syllabus for the course “Philosophy in Literature,” which includes an exploratory look at Wilder’s Our Town as well as other literary and philosophic texts, with an emphasis on the evolution of philosophy.

Goals of this course: This course will expose you to philosophy from various eras, helping you understand how philosophy has evolved. Since many of the texts make the same point using either literary or philosophic approaches, you will discover the differences between philosophy and literature both in terms of how they are constructed and their impact on readers.

To download the syllabus, and other resources, visit the Teaching Materials page of our website.

Our thanks to Nancy Bunge for sharing her syllabus, and for passing the lessons of Wilder onto her students.
