Call for Papers: Wilder Panel at 2017 ALA Conference

The Thornton Wilder Society invites proposals for papers at the 2017 American Literature Association Conference. (Submissions required by January 15, 2017.)

American Literature Association LogoTo celebrate the 90th anniversary of The Bridge of San Luis Rey the Thornton Wilder Society invites papers on any aspect of the author’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Possible topics include, approaches to teaching the novel, comparisons to Wilder’s drama or other novels, the novel’s influence on later authors, or comparisons of other novels to The Bridge narratively, thematically, structurally, etc. For information about the author’s works and available editions, as well as published Wilder scholarship, go to http://www.twildersociety.org/works/ and http://www.twildersociety.org/education/bibliography/

The Society encourages graduate students as well as established scholars to submit 500 word proposals and C.V.s to Park Bucker at psbucke@uscsumter.edu by January 15, 2017.
